Note: if you are viewing this on a mobile device there seems to be a glitch where the dates aren't showing properly. I won't be fixing this as the same problem doesn't appear to be happening with actual artist pages that the public see. I graduated from Norwich School of Art in 2001 with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Visual Studies, followed by a Master’s in Fine Art three years later.
After graduating I began collaborating with musician Wreckless Eric, who composed the soundtrack for my degree show video installation, Mind Your Head. Together, we produced numerous projects, including the award-winning Snap Me Photo Booth, many short films and I created live video projections for his Visually Enhanced Tour in 2003, which featured a performance at Tate Britain as part of the Tate Late programme.
Since 2004, I have created animations for projection for The Bootleg Beatles, a collaboration that continues to this day. My video projection work has also included commissions for The Barefoot Doctor (Stephen Russell) and poet Martin Figura.
I have been silversmithing since I was 16, earning a City & Guilds Level III qualification in 2016. My work includes jewellery, as well as handmade enamelled silver and copper bowls. I use enamel as a way of introducing colour to the work. Colour plays an important part in my work and also underpins my abstract photography which I create using various in camera techniques.
In 2024 I established the Allen Hall Gallery in partnership with the artist Guy Allen. We both have studios at the gallery where we make and exhibit our work alongside that of other fine artists.
