Janice Alamanou - Coastal Photography

Multi-award winning, including Top 60 Master’s Awards, New York, ARTYA, MIFA, Epson Pano, BIPP, IPA, Ambassador of Art Italy and ICA International Certified Artist since 2020.

Artwork as seen in House & Garden, British Vogue, Vanity Fair, numerous US, UK and Italian media.

Janice’s life on the wild Norfolk coast, UK, fuelled her passion with the lens, her images are Unique and Limited, actual and perceptual stories of life and environment. Each holding a deep meaning and showing the beauty of nature and people combined.

“I began photographing as a child, a means of escaping into a different reality and understanding my environment. My home flooded twice in my lifetime. The first, when I was 12 years old, the wind was strong, bending the windows and the ground floor caved into the cellar as we were above on the 2nd floor. The following morning I took my camera and photographed. I saw the devastation of the coastline, my father’s fishing boat lifted onto the Quayside, the ruined buildings and people clearing up. This took my mind away from the devastation and destruction the forces of nature can do, and channelled the positivity of people coming together to change and help.
I later realised that this was the root of my passion for environment and people.”

Janice’s photography ranges from the actual of landscape/cityscape/street and portraiture to amalgamated photographs, all captured by Janice, images from all over the world, that combine to create perceptual and unique artworks that accentuate the beauty, strength and vulnerability of our environment and the roles people play in it.
