Elizabeth's work has two strands – the visual explorations of rivers, the sea and liminal spaces and more abstract work that explores the mind/heart connection to those spaces.

Elizabeth uses colour, texture and strong, structural elements to capture light, mood and to evoke a sense of place. Being on or near water is her inspirational catalyst and where she uses sketchbook and camera to capture my initial thoughts. Paintings are worked up in oil or acrylic in the studio trying to hold on to the freedom and immediacy of the sketches.

Elizabeth is happy to take commissions enjoying the direct connection to people and organisations. Her latest commission has been a painting for the 2023 Ely Cathedral Christmas card.

Shw started life as a largely self-taught watercolour painter who exhibited with local art societies. At 42 she went to Anglia Ruskin University gaining a BA (Hons) Fine Art in 2011. She decided to give full-time painting a chance and since then she's exhibited with various galleries in Norfolk and Scotland (where she has another studio on the Isle of Luing) and hold a solo exhibition every 2 years.

Elizabeth teaches themed acrylic workshops and painting retreats for NorfolkBound at Little Massingham Manor and is also available for private tuition at her studio in Norfolk.
