Note: if you are viewing this on a mobile device there seems to be a glitch where the dates aren't showing properly. I won't be fixing this as the same problem doesn't appear to be happening with actual artist pages that the public see. If you want to check the dates either go to the editing area in the Members' area or have a look at your actual artist page by clicking on your image here

Originally from Southern Africa, I was a Studio potter for some 20 years. I started pottery classes in Orapa, Botswana later and moved to South Africa. I went on to completed a Ceramics degree at Paarl College in the Western Cape. During those years I have taught both adults and children as well as selling and exhibiting, with numerous pieces finding homes overseas.

Late in 1998 I migrate to the UK and owing to necessity put my creativity aside to working in an office environment. Over the past few years I have once again started painting.

Having retired last year, I now have the time to enjoy creating again and I have chosen to venture into the intriguing world of glass.

I love colour and light and glass with its opposing abilities -it is strong, yet brittle; it is fluid yet solid; it can be transparent or opaque …it is an addictive material to work with.

The basic design is made by cutting the glass. This is then fired to around 800degrees and if necessary it will be re-fired as a lower temperature to manipulate the glass into a shape or to add another dimension to the finished piece.

I hope you will enjoy viewing my items and my creative journey.
