I am an abstract photographic artist and diorama/model maker. After graduating in art photography, I pursued a successful career as a commercial photographer, working in fine art, theatre and music. In between working, I enjoyed exhibiting my personal work, including exhibitions around the UK and abroad. However about 6 years ago I decided that I really wanted to give my full attention to my art and so became a full time artist. Since then I have exhibited widely including the Mall galeries in London. My desire is to show some magical realism. These places, buildings, details are all real but when seen together with the natural elements of light and reflection, it blurs the line a little, between fantasy and reality. No matter what you see, there is always a crossroads of interpretation. This is how I often view things, often interpreting everyday scenes or objects into complex stories, full of colour and abstract detail. Using only the natural elements of reflection, refraction and light, without manipulation. Often using glass window reflections, to tell an every day story in a different way.
I also make small scale scenes/dioramas/sculptures, hand building and painting most of the components myself and often using an everyday item to build on. Using my hands to build things has been a love of mine since a child and I have a fascination with small detail.
