Note: if you are viewing this on a mobile device there seems to be a glitch where the dates aren't showing properly. I won't be fixing this as the same problem doesn't appear to be happening with actual artist pages that the public see. I trained as a furniture designer at Leicester Polytechnic BA Hons 3D Design followed by designing for industry & freelancing before moving into education where I taught Product Design for many years. When the opportunity came to retire from teaching I had time to progress my jewellery making hobby into something more productive. I trained in silversmithing and jewellery making at West Dean College W. Sussex and at Churcher's College. Various courses later I began to sell work at art and craft fairs and local galleries. The move to Norfolk has proved incredibly inspiring: the landscape and the wonderfully creative people of this county have invigorated my artwork and has allowed me to expand my artistic endeavour. I have two quite diverse drawing styles - one; the illustrative design exploration used to develop my jewellery pieces and the much more expressive medium of charcoal and ink figure drawing and painting. As with most artists I love to explore a variety of artistic pursuits and these art forms are fluid in direction and will no doubt change again as skills progress and materials change. I am also enjoying teaching others to experience jewellery making in small studio workshop session. Once a teacher always a teacher I guess.
