Having worked as a full time cartoonist and sculptor for 40 years, I am focusing now on acrylic and mixed media work for a new challenge, particularly 'disrupted reality'.

Another new body of work brings a feeling of joy and playfulness back into these globally rather terrifying times. These larger paintings are whimsical, layered and expressive with subtle use of colour and value to hide secondary narratives to entertain the viewer beyond first sight and hopefully raise a smile.

I believe that our visual diet should be uplifting and beautifully executed and most of all raise a smile.

I work intuitively with my ‘monkey mind’ allowing it to bring forth as much playfulness as it likes. Mark making, design and subtle use of colour are brought into my process after the subject has disclosed itself and I shift between the free creative side of my brain and the analytical principles of art making throughout my process.

I am based in North Norfolk and am represented for my cartoons by The O’Shea Gallery and for my sculpture by David Messum.

I look forward to showing this new work during North Norfolk Open Studios 2024.
