Inspired by the Norfolk countryside, my work is based on my surroundings - the sea, buildings, trees, colours, birds, figures and sky as well as on more abstract and mythological ideas. My particular interest is in the flow of energy, movement and balance which I express using line, colour, texture and sometimes words. The work includes collage, acrylics, pastel, inks, watercolour - whatever is appropriate at the time. Largely self-taught, I enjoy experimenting with the different techniques I have encountered in various courses. I have also written a children's book based on the adventures of chemical atoms illustrating their chemical properties, a Birthday Book featuring the signs of the zodiac and a self-help book on Chronic Illness and Addictions.
