A bit about me... The artist behind DECKLED EDGE is Janna Cossettini.

DECKLED EDGE is an art studio based in the idyllic countryside of North Norfolk, created solely by artist, Janna Cossettini. Welcome to my world of art and inspiration! I have developed my unique art using a hyper-realistic style with a strong focus on the equine, animals, as well as nature. My art captures a spectacular diverse breadth of the natural world. My inspiration comes from many areas, mostly by the animals I grew up with, located near my childhood farm in Australia, my drawings showcase the magnificent inspiring beauty of the surrounding wildlife. I produce all of my fine-art original art pieces, giclée limited edition prints, and supporting products such as greeting cards, gift wrap, coasters etc, which are all produced here within the UK. I am passionate about creating by hand, from scratch, and in the feeling this emotes throughout my products.

How I came to this point... Born in Australia, I have always had a passion for the outdoors, growing up surrounded by farm animals, riding horses, cattle, wild fowl etc. My home farm is at the base of the Kosciusko National Park, filled with wild brumbies, boars, kangaroos, kookaburras, wombats, lyrebirds etc. I undertook a BA in Fine-Art in Melbourne, and continued creating art whilst embarking on a career as an Art Director both in Sydney Australia, for the Condé Nast family of magazines, then onto London UK from 2001 within the Condé Nast flagship offices here in Hanover Square. I worked in amazing departments such as: World of Interiors magazine, Vogue Promotions covering all Vogue titles. Two children later, I continued to draw, and ride horses, plus took on a rescue springer spaniel called Goose, and recently a fully trained gun dog cocker called Tequila.

My work... Has been heavily influenced by my love of horses, and I am now moving into a new area showcasing deer, snipe, woodcock, partridge, duck, pheasant, grouse etc.. My style tends to show an intimate personality in every unique piece, which results from working traditionally by hand. I love the spontaneity of freehand drawing and challenge myself by working to a very large scale, to produce a truly honest feeling for the viewer, which is simply not possible with art on the market created using digital or tracing/projection methods. You’ll find my art is totally unique and not found elsewhere.

My current aim... produce large scale original art, working on new collections which carry a theme, emote a feeling, and are unique to the art world. Currently completed my Equine collection with Florals, and to follow on with a new subject which has taken my heart, all to do with the shooting fraternity; deer, pheasant, partridge, duck, gundogs, shotguns etc!

Art to date... supplied to the equine industry; horse charities World Horse Welfare and Redwings Horse Sanctuary, UK Equestrian Distributors, plus licensing my art to both Moonpig and Thortful.
