I am a part time teacher, part time potter who initially learnt to hand build whilst living in Spain. I used terracotta clay, often locally sourced and made slips and terra-sigilatta to decorate the surface of decorative pieces. I was able to explore the joy and unpredictability of a range of firings, including pit and raku. I learnt to throw with Douglas Philips at Ridge Pottery, Somerset, a brilliant potter who taught me to be more exacting about my pots and most importantly introduced me to the world of ash glazes and wood firing which confirmed a complete addiction to working at the wheel and the almost magical element that ash can be during reduction firings. Living in London and Sheringham has meant using an electric kiln and during the last few years I have produced a range of tableware that is ergonomic and happily sits in both modern and traditional decors. Pieces are finished with glazes that complement each form and also engages the user’s interest.

Avenir Light is a clean and stylish font
