I have been painting for over thirty years and studied Art and Design at
Norwich City College. I am now happily settled on the Norfolk Broads and have a studio in the garden. During my artistic career I have used several different styles and media but am now concentrating on mixed media collage and monoprinting, very often combining the two.
My collages are made mostly from original monoprints, but sometimes I add other printed material, such as newspapers and magazines and textile fragments. I make the monoprints in batches without any idea of what they may be used for. I sometimes start with an acrylic underpainting and then cut or tear the monoprints I have selected into either defined or random shapes. These are then used to make an image on paper or board, usually semi-abstract. Sometimes I have a loose idea of the subject but the composition is mostly undefined at the beginning and arises organically as I work with various prints and papers
